3. Opinions on the work environment
Briefly about the topic
The types of businesses that take initiative to secure safety at the workplace as opposed to those who first react when it's too late have a better work environment.
Research shows that workplaces that have a proactive safety culture have fewer accidents at work for example.
Proactive safety culture is about focusing on the things you want more of, namely good safety, rather than talking about the things you don't want, accidents for example.
It's important to have an open atmosphere where the employees are encouraged to take part in discussions about safety as well as a non-judgemental culture where you focus on learning from former accidents rather than pointing fingers.
Safety and a good work environment are a common task that creates value and involvement - from figuring out the strategy to the execution of the tasks. Everyone at the workplace has a continuous focus on the work environment and wants to take part in creating and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
Why is this topic relevant to our industry?
It's important for the welfare and attraction that the employees know that the leaders prioritize safety every day - also during rush hour.
It's important that you can freely discuss the safety concerns. When accidents occur, the reason as to why and how they happened must be investigated so that you can learn from them rather than finding the "guilty" one. The primary focus should be on the "good practice", to create a safe and trusting environment that even the guests would be able to feel.
