Briefly about the topic

Continuously working on systematically improving the work environment when you’re conscious of the physical and psychological consequences of the job, and making sure that the choices you make create conditions at your workplace that people thrive in.

Why is this topic relevant to our industry?

It is often when looking at the consequences of the work environment that the daily decisions and dispositions come in. An early and systematic effort to improve the work environment is of great importance for the general welfare of the workplace. It is much easier to solve problems regarding the physical and psychological work environment while they’re still small.

We strive to create an environment where colleagues feel comfortable bringing up subjects that may be difficult to talk about in order to fix the things that don’t work.

  • Read § 17 of the Decree on Cooperation on Safety and Health No. 1181 on the strategic occupational health and safety tasks, i.e. general tasks carried out by the health and safety committee, in accrodance to § 11. The tasks consist of planning, directing and coordinating the company's cooperation on safety and health.

    Read §18 of the Decree on Cooperation on Safety and Health No. 1181 on the operational working environment tasks, i.e. the daily tasks to be carried out by the occupational health and safety group within the part of the undertaking covered by the work environment group.

    In all companies, the employer must discuss the company's work environment with employees once a year. Here you will jointly organise the coming year's cooperation on the work environment. You should identify the challenges in the company's working environment and, on that basis, draw up a plan for how you will work together in the coming year to ensure a good working environment.

    On The Danish Working Environment Authority’s (WEA) website, you can find a guide to the yearly work environment evaluation, which you can use as a basis. The guide can be found on the WEA website under the theme of AMO (www.at.dk/amo). If WEA visits your workplace, you must be able to document in writing that you have held the the yearly work environment evaluation.

    How to solve the assignment:

    You must via a written essay, a movie/audio file etc. convey the following:

    - The task number/which topic you have chosen.

    - To describe the information you have read up on and the reflections it's given you.

    - Seeing as the Mandatory Occupational Health and Safety Organization course is about working together, you must discuss the topic/contents with a colleague or your work environment group.

    The purpose is for you to grow more knowledgeable of how you can work together to prevent and control different challenges that may occur relating to the topic.

  • Read § 18 i Bekendtgørelsen om samarbejde om sikkerhed og sundhed nr. 1181 om de operationelle arbejdsmiljøopgaver i.e. the daily tasks carried out by the OHS-ornaization within the part of the company covered by the occupational health and safety group.

    Read the entire assignment under "opgaver" on Teams and relate it to the sub-assignment you've chosen. Discuss the subject and questions with your colleagues or your work environment group.

    • Handling and participating in activities to protect the employees and prevents risks from arising.

    • Taking part in planning the work with safety and health, as well as the workplace evaluation.

    • Making sure that the conditions at work regarding health and safety measures are completely safe.

    • Making sure that the onboarding and instruction of new employees are effective and modified to their needs.

    • Taking a part in the examination of accidents, poisoning, and health-related injuries and reporting them to the employer or their representative.

  • Read § 17 i Bekendtgørelsen om samarbejde om sikkerhed og sundhed nr. 1181 om de strategiske arbejdsmiljøopgaver, i.e. general tasks performed by the occupational health and safety committee, without prejudice to § 11, paragraph 2. The tasks consist of planning, directing and coordinating the company's cooperation on safety and health.

    Try to research which areas you should be particularly attentive to according to § 17 as well as:

    - The tasks consist of planning, managing, and coordinating the business' cooperation on safety and health.

    - The work environment committee must manage the necessary activities for the protection of the employees and the prevention of any work-related injuries.

At this meeting, you should jointly organise the coming year's cooperation on the work environment. You should identify the challenges in the company's work environment and, on that basis, draw up a plan for how you will work together in the coming year to ensure a good work environment.

    On the WEA’s website, you can find a guide to the annual health and safety review, which you can use as a basis. The guide can be found on the WEA website under the theme of AMO (www.at.dk/amo). If WEA visits, you must be able to document in writing that you have held the annual health and safety meeting.

    Find out when you last held the annual evaluation and whether there are any action plans to follow up. If you haven't yet prepared the annual evaluation, check any previous annual evaluations and their results - do this with your OHS-organzation, where you will also plan when to start a new annual review
