How do I prepare and practice my exam presentation?

It is important that you prepare a short presentation. It must not be more than eight minutes long.

Your exam consists of three parts; your practical project, your disposition and the oral presentation.

Use your time wisely, make sure to use your time in a way that accommodates your project.

Short presentation of yourself, why you chose your formulation of the problem and your project. Including this in your presentation gives a good start, where you usually can feel the energy and commitment you have put into it.

Thereafter you can go ahead with you actual presentation. Prioritize those models and theories, that have the biggest impact on your formulation of the problem.

This videoclip describes ‘The exam snake’ where you tune in on the most relevant theories and methods you have worked with and how it has relevance to your everyday life and practical product.

Regarding the exam it is important, that you;

  • use the correct academic terms

  • challenge yourself. Try to include as many different perspectives as possible

  • include your practical product

  • reflect and think about how your own consciousness can help you create change

    The ending:

  • conclude on your formulation of the problem

  • explain what you specifically will do from now on

  • reflect on what you have gained through the process of this course

Good advice regarding your exam

  • Time goes by fast - consider, how you want to spend it and prioritize.

  • It is about being able to use theory in practice: your thoughts and those activities you have set in motion (thus your practical examples from everyday life) are therefore very valuable for your exam.

  • Prioritizing is addressing what is most important and have given you the best results

  • At last, add a broader perspective on your case, give - preferably a look into the future. Share what you have learned. What has been important, what thoughts has it triggered, etc. And how do you hold on to it in the future?

  • Practice - as many times as you can. Practice out loud so at the same time you practice your formulations as well.

  • Remember to print three examples of your written exam presentation, so there will be one for censor, me and yourself.
