The Mandatory Occupational Health and Safety training course
Welcome to the Mandatory Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training course at Asnæs & Vangstrup in collaboration with Konventum.
The aim is to inspire you in your work with the work environment and to get you soundly through the course.
On the first day of class, you will choose which topics you want to write about in your assignments.

How to become certified?
The aim is for you to gain knowledge about the work environment - and an understanding of how to use that knowledge in your business.
You will gain a greater understanding of:
How to strengthen your preventive work.
Where you can find knowledge on occupational health and safety.
How you can help integrate the work environment into the strategic and daily operations of the company.
How occupational health and safety issues are addressed in a holistic perspective in the context of the company's policies, goals and framework.
Physical attendance:
On the first day of the course, you are required to prepare an activity plan so that you can continuously document that you have immersed yourself in the topics and have acquired knowledge in the field.
The 4 assignments:
The 4 assignments you must submit will be chosen from 7 different themes.
It is a requirement that you choose a different theme for each assignment in order to achieve a holistic approach to occupational health and safety.
Info about the assignments:
You must write 3 assignments on an orientational level and 1 assignment on an executional level .
Orientational level:
The orientational level is where you immerse yourself in the theme by familiarizing yourself with the subject through the chapters of the book, links, paragraphs, videos, pdf files, etc.
- You should write what knowledge/information you have read up on (e.g.: chapter X of the book + paragraph Y and pdf Z).
- You should briefly note what you have learned.
- You should discuss your new knowledge with a colleague or someone from the work environment group.
- You should list 2-3 learning points that you want to follow up on in your work environment group.
You may convey your knowledge for the assignment however you would like. For example using text, audio files, film, pictures of keywords on the board, etc.
Executional level:
The executional level is where you immerse yourself in the theme byf familiarizing yourself with the subject through the chapters of the book, links, paragraphs, videos, pdf files, etc. AND in addition to that, you must answer the questions in the assignment.
- You should write what knowledge/information you have read up on (e.g.: chapter X of the book + paragraph Y and pdf Z).
- You must answer all questions.
- You need to show that you have understood how the company relates to the questions and uses it in everyday life. If there are questions you cannot answer, describe how you will attempt to find the answers. You should note who you have spoken to and that person's role in the company.
- It is essential that you show that you have taken active steps to contact an OHS representative/leader or colleague to investigate the issue.
You may convey your knowledge for the assignment however you would like. For example using text, audio files, film, pictures of keywords on the board, etc.

The assignments must be submitted on time - double-check the deadlines for submission.
In addition to that, you must hand in a practical assignment. Read more about it further down the page.

The purpose?
The purpose of the practical assignment is to convert your theoretical understanding to practical.The assignment is obligatory, which means that it has to be made and submitted on time for you to be able to be certified.
The assignment must have a starting point in current/actual problems at your workplace.
What could the assignment be about?
It could be one of these topics/areas:-To inform about your work with the OHS organization
-To create or update your Risk Assessment (APV)
-To make a Risk Assessment of hazardous work
-To get a handle on the chemicals at your company
-To describe how the work in the OHS has to be organised
Which form?
You can hand it in as a movie, an audio file or a product like for example a presentation for a Risk Assesment APV.It would be beneficial to describe?

The OHS-organization is the central organ to working together on the work environment.
The structure often varies from company to company and it depends on the challenges that occurs in regards to the work environment.

The principles of prevention must be at the root of the OHS-organization in the company, where the workplace must ensure an efficient prevention of problems in the work environment.
This means that the workplace must prevent/get rid of risks and burdens at work. It has to be safe and healthy when going to work.

Further training for work environment representatives
Once you, as work environment representative and supervisor in OHS, have completed the mandatory health and safety training, it is a requirement from the Danish Working Environment Authority that you update and supplement your health and safety knowledge with 2 days of training, where you get the knowledge to be able to work with existing health and safety problems and to prevent future ones.
